One of the major focuses on the upcoming Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph was to celebrate gaming as a culture from the 80′s to the present. This is why the fictional games made for the movie have elements from the various eras of gaming, such as 8-bit Wreck-It Ralph game to the mode modern Hero’s Duty. It’s actually quite refreshing to see a movie take games so seriously.
But just to prove that these guys know their history, they made some “commercials” for Wreck-It Ralph, Sugar Rush, and Hero’s Duty all in a style similar to the time they would come out. They are actually quite impressive.
Also kind of shows how gameplay has taken a backseat over some of the more cinematic elements in video game advertisement.
