War of the Roses: Where Playing is Learning

I think one reason I want to be a game designer, and why I do devout so much of time to creating and commenting about games, is because it turns play into a learning experience. It’s almost like taking it to the next level. Take this video for instance, where the developers for War of the Roses fantasized as kids about being knights and swinging swords, and now not only are they making a game based around that fantasy, but they are going out and learning everything they can about that to provide an authentic experience. To me, that is really awesome and I’ll know my life is perfect when I’m asked to do something awesome to “learn” about it.
