Remember when the PlayStation 3 had a PS2 inside of it, so you can play those PS2 games you love so much like Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2? Remember how well into the PS3 life cycle, Square Enix released Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories in America for the PS2 (if I remember correctly, it came with Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+ in Japan) and if you had sold your PS2 to get a PS3 you couldn’t really play it?
Good times. Anyways, following suit with HD remixes of PS2 games, Kingdom Heart and Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories are being brought over to the Ps3, at least in Japan. Accompanying them is what appears to be a Re:358/2 Days, which is awesome because that game really had some cool ideas going for it, including a cool multiplayer mode where you got to play as the members of Organization XIII. This is all most likely an attempt to get everyone up to speed for the eventual release of Kingdom Hearts 3.
I also hope this reaches American shores, seeing as we never get the Final Mix versions of the Kingdom Hearts games and they tend to add some important story elements to the game. While from what I know of the Final Mix of 2 just added foreshadowing to Birth By Sleep, the Final Mix of Kingdom Hearts added something kind of plot relevant.
Note: At least the GCN ports to the Wii added something new to enhance their gameplay, not just upped textures.
