Let the Final Battle Begin: SNES Vs. Sega Genesis

I think the Nerd is the perfect person to do this kind of in-depth analysis of fanboys and what fuels their fire. Personally, I think his description of the emotional responses that fanboys feel when someone bashes their favorite console is dead on, as it often feels like you’re somehow personally offending a person when you say you’re favorite console is better than their favorite.

As for actually comparing the consoles, I think it would be hard to really compare the SNES and Genesis accurately, given how many games there were and how different they all are, but I think the Nerd did a fine job. I had forgotten that the Genesis had game boxes that would pretty much shape how we package games for years to come and I never realized how different each consoles music style was.

My favorite part has to be the “Genesis is for adults, Nintendo is for kids” thing. Oh history, it has a funny way of repeating itself.
