I did this once. Naming my Weedle (eventually a Beedrill) MAGIKARP. Through everyone for a loop.
I also had a friend, who named Pokemon after certain competitive builds when they were some other competitive build. For example, he had an Octillery named “Spec. Sweep”, when it was really a special wall or something. It was weird, and it kept throwing me for a loop.
