I remember having the Sega Game Gear. I was really young, so I think that even though color and back lighting was really cool, the games never felt like they were up to par with what the consoles had to offer. For example, I had a Sonic game and it never felt as fast or fun as Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or 3. Thinking back on it, this is also the reason why the PSP never appealed to me and why I’ve always loved the Nintendo handhelds. Most gameboy and DS games always either felt natural or unique compared to their console counterparts, such as Link’s Awakening which wasn’t as big as A Link to the Past, but still felt natural and maybe even felt just as big.
