From the Makers of Super Mario Bros. Crossover Comes the Kickstarter For Super Retro Squad

So what happens when you create a game full of licensed characters that ends up being really fun but you can’t make a buck off of it? Why you create an entirely new game based around the premise of a bunch of characters with vastly different abilities going through the same levels.

If you haven’t played Super Mario Crossover, I suggest you do (or rather the sequel which is what I have linked but you can go find the original pretty easily). It a lot of fun to see who characters like Samus or Link deal with being in Mario’s game.

As for this kickstarter, I suggest supporting it. You know, a lot of games find their own way to pay homage to the classics, but rarely does one pay homage to all of them, with each element specific. I think it’s also going to take quite a bit of extra design work to make levels that suit each character but remain challenging. In fact, I remember while playing Crossover 2 that some characters couldn’t complete certain levels. It will definitely be worth seeing whether or not this game succeeds or fails.
