Weekly Update #7: My Life Is Ruined!

So I’m finally back at school, so not only will everything be going back to normal, but also more stuff will be happening, right?

Wrong!

Turns out my life is ruined not only because of The Old Republic, but I also started Skyrim today. I have to say, people were right when they said that this game was not only fun, but would take up all your free time because I’ve been playing all day today and felt like I haven’t made much progress. But its such a beautiful and immersive game, I love the fact that I can effectively dual wield swords and easily switch between magic when I need a quick heal.

Anyways, I promise not to let those games distract me from keeping this site running and getting better all the time.

So last week in the news we got some really exciting information. The first was that Epic Mickey 2 was announced for the PS3, 360, and Wii. The first game was pretty good, and can almost be considered like a lite version of Deus Ex. It was a very okay game but for anyone that’s a hardcore Disney fan, the game had more references than you can shake a paintbrush at. The game was also confirmed to have co-op, so…woot!

Also, some new stills of the Phoenix Wright movie were released. Announcing that such a movie was even being produced was like the first Extra Credit that we ever put up on VideoGameOlogists.com so you can probably tell that I am very interested. I think its going to rock simply because Japan has this odd way of embracing goofy aesthetics with a serious tone and it not being creepy or blowing up in their face. Can’t say the same is true for the US.

We also caught wind that legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto is working on a new project. Something about a realistic game but with some new added twist. One of the reasons that I idolize that man so much is because its always about doing things differently. Even when they appear the same, nothing is ever a rehash when you look past the surface and that’s why Nintendo games always seem so fresh and exciting (well that and the fact it takes them years inbetween installments…usually).

Anyways, as always we encourage you to post the news you find in our forums and they might end up in the weekly update. Also, if you have the Old Republic and wanna roll with us, let us know.

And finally, this is video is a combination of exciting, sad, depressing, and amazing all at once.

Saving on car insurance: You got this Sonic!
