Welcome to Videogameologists!

Welcome to VideoGameologists, the place where serious gamers have serious fun. I’m taking some time right now to give a quick overview of what we do here.

While other gaming websites are there to bring you the news, we’re here to bring you commentary on the gaming world. The most important thing to note is that we’re not all journalists here, but rather we all come from a wide variety of disciplines. Most of us even have goals that lie in the video game industry, so we’re going to hone our analytical skills through this website and hope that everyone participates as well. If you want to know more about us, you can check out our about page here.

But first, let me introduce myself. I’m Erik G. one of the writers/editors of the site. I’m a literature student but am studying up to be a game designer. If you want to know more about the staff here, we have a Meet the Staff that carefully details our backgrounds, writing styles, and personalities.

So while we are open, we still have some last-minute things to finish up. As of the time of this writing, we’re ironing out details about the forum where we will be posting news and hosting discussions. I’ll be sure to let you all know when they’re up and running.

Also, we need writers. So if you would like to be apart of this website, feel like you can write once a week, and have a strong opinion about certain topics in video games, then send us an email with some sample work attached at [email protected] with the title “writing application”. We would love to have you on the team.

We’re also looking for talented artists because we’re hoping to set up a store to help offset some of the costs that it takes to run this website. So, if you’re an artists, send us some samples at the same email ([email protected]) with the title “artist application”.

Articles will start going up on October 31 (ooh, scary right) and will, as of right now, be released Monday, Wednesday and Friday. At the same time, we’ll start posting the fun stuff too, so in the meantime, please tell any writers or artists you know about this website and have them send in an application or better yet, send one in yourself!
